Amae — where you are met,
exactly as you are.
Get accessible and personalized mental healthcare from the comfort of your home.
At Amae, we believe healing begins the moment you feel truly received. Our approach is relational, trauma-informed, and deeply attuned to the complexity of who you are, not who you've been told to be.
Our Approach
-
Amae is currently an exclusively online practice. Far from being a barrier, the virtual space has its own quiet intimacy as many clients find it easier to arrive fully, from the comfort and safety of their own environment. Wherever you are, the quality of presence we bring to this work does not change.
-
Healing is not linear, and it does not look the same for everyone. At Amae, we work from a trauma-informed foundation that prioritises safety, choice, and trust above all else. Whether through talking, somatic awareness, or creative expression, we follow your lead, weaving together approaches that honour the full complexity of how you carry your story, not just the parts that are easy to name.
-
This is an intentional space. Amae is an affirming, inclusive practice for women, 2S-LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC clients, and men who have never quite fit the mould that the patriarchal culture cast for them. If you have ever felt too much, not enough, or simply unseen. This space was made with you in mind.
Hi, I’m Elise. Nice to meet you!
I came to this work through my own journey, and I bring all of it with me. The lived experience, the training, and a genuine belief that being truly received can change everything.
Let’s work together, in English or French.
Body & Mind
Trauma, stress, and unprocessed emotion don't just live in our thoughts. They live in our bodies — in tension, in breathlessness, in the ways we brace or go numb without knowing why. You might have talked about your experiences many times and still feel like something is holding on. That's not a failure of insight. That's the nervous system doing exactly what it learned to do. Our bodies and minds are extraordinary in how they protect us. The work is simply to remind them, gently, that the danger has passed and it's safe to soften. When we work with the body alongside the mind, we stop managing our past and start completing it.
TESTIMONIALS“Elise was so in tune with what I needed during our session! Her reassuring words and guidance with my breath helped me feel supported. She made it easy for me to trust the process.”
